Us

The Team at Bob Tait's Aviation Theory School

(from left to right, Richard, Ben, Lee and Bob)

Based at Redcliffe Aerodrome, Queensland Australia, we offer high quality home study programs covering all of the syllabus requirements from Basic Aeronautical Knowledge to Commercial Pilot Licence. Our home study courses are constantly up-dated to ensure that changes in procedures etc are current. Most recently all of our home study books have been revised to reflect the change to the CASA Cyber Examination system. The BAK book now contains all of the material needed for Human Performance & Limitations to Private Pilot's Licence. Air Law for PPL land CPL and IREX have been updated to reflect the recent changes to non-towered aerodromes and the changes from GAAP to Class D CTRs.

Full-time theory courses are conducted throughout the year in our modern air conditioned classroom featuring state-of-the-art electronic presentations of animated graphics and video material. Our courses are designed to prepare students for the CASA cyber examinations for CPL as well as Command Instrument Rating.

Bob Tait's Aviation Theory School is a totally independent provider of aviation theory education. We are not associated with any flying training organisation and no matter where you choose to do your practical flying training, we promise you the very best in personal attention and the highest quality in up-to-date theory training.

We are proud of our hard-won reputation as one of Australia's leading Aviation Theory providers.

CLASSROOM EQUIPMENT

Our classroom is located at Hangar N Wirraway Drive Redcliffe Airport Brisbane Queensland, it is fitted with the very latest in electronic equipment. A state-of-the-art SONY data projector allows PowerPoint presentations, animated graphics, videos, TV and live access to the internet. The animated graphics and digital video are all produced in-house and have become an important feature of our teaching method. The course is based on Bob Tait's well known CPL and IREX study guides and the fee includes access to our very successful practice cyber exams. These allow students to have a 'full-dress rehearsal' of the actual CASA cyber exam before sitting each subect. In spite of all this electronic 'stuff', Bob Tait still insists on personally teaching every CPL and IREX course and his faithful old pen and white board are ever present to cope with the inevitable 'good question.'

CASA CYBER EXAMINATIONS

Whilst the PPL examinations are available at most flying schools, CASA has excluded all flying schools and theory providers from acting as providers for the IREX or CPL examinations. The CPL and IREX examinations are available by arrangement with an approved provider. CASA has appointed a New Zealand company, Assessment Services Pty Ltd as the provider for the whole of Australia. You can find details of examination venues and operating hours at their web site.

The details for our upcoming courses are available here. For the latest info on the Cyber Exams check the CASA website.

BOB TAIT'S EXAM-PREP PRACTICE EXAMINATIONS.

We have put together a new version of our well known Cyber Exams and released them using the new online school platform. This gives students more flexibility with the online exams: you can now use any browser and even portable devices such as iPads etc to access the online exams. Exam Prep packages are available for PPL, all CPL subjects plus Command Instrument Rating. Please see the website for more details
