Bob Tait's Aviation Theory School

This is a two week full time course designed to prepare students for the CASA Cyber Instrument Rating Examination [IREX].

As of IREX 1/2011, the course fee will be increasing to $1420.00 [inc. GST] . A $400.00 deposit is required to confirm your place in the class.

The course is based on Bob Tait's Instrument Rating Study Guide. The cost of this guide is not included in the course fee and it is available from pilot supply stores or direct from us via our e-commerce page. Pre-study of the Study Guide is recommended prior to the commencement of the course.

Candidates will also require copies of CAO, CAR, AIP, ERC/TAC, DAP [East & West], ERSA which can be purchased from your local Pilot Supply store or direct from Airservices Australia.

Because so many IREX students come from out-of-town. we do not arrange a class sitting for the CASA exam. You may make your own arrangements to sit the CASA Cyber Exam if you wish. The CASA Exam fee is not included in the course fee.

Classes commence at 8.30am each working day and finish between 3.30 and 4.00pm. Public holidays that fall within a scheduled course are not observed.

Important: You will not be permitted to sit the IREX exam unless you hold a PPL or CPL pilot licence. It is not enough to have passed the PPL theory exam - you must actually hold at least a Private Pilot Licence. CASA Reference.
