Bob's Piper Pacer VH-MBT

The Pacer Project

The piper project began 7 years ago when Bob Tait purchased the collection of parts which finally became the aeroplane you see above.

The pacer has been restored by Keith Hinchliffe and RapAir of Archerfield who have worked steadily away solving the endless list of problems that confront any restorer. As an aeroplane builder/restorer Keith is a legend in this area. He has built his own Acro II which has won just about every award there is for home-builts in this region.

We have changed the rego to VH-MBT for 'Marie and Bob Tait'. After nearly one year in RapAir's maintainence hangar, MBT finally made it through a new CofA issue and is back in the air once more. She has exceeded all of my expectations and is an absolute delight to fly. The 160hp 0-320 Lyco is producing 118kt TAS at 75%. We have obtained some snap-on window vents to provide improved cooling airflow in the cabin.

The colour was added in August 2005 thanks to Tim Powell and Margaret Dahl who worked together to produce a great new colour scheme [see above].
