• Check that the agricultural equipment is secure.
• Check that the dump and fan brakemechanisms are free from
obstructions and operate correctly.

• Check that the hull and floats are free fromdamage, corrosion andwater
accumulation.
• Check that the float attachment struts, bracingwires and attachment
fittings are secure and free from damage and corrosion.
• Check that thewater rudder and itsattachmentsaresecureand free from
damageandcorrosionand that thewater rudderhas full, freeandcorrect
travel.
ELTREQUIREMENTS (CAR 252A)
Beforeundertaking a flight at a greater distance than 50nm radius from
the aerodrome of departure, youmust carry a serviceableELT. If theELT is
installed on the aircraft itmust be armed before flight. If it is a portableELT it
must be carried in a readily accessible place.
Exceptions to this requirement are:
• flightswhollywithin 50nm of the aerodrome of departure;
• an aerial agriculture flight;
• whereCASA have issued an approval (CASR21.197);
• the flight is for the purpose ofmoving the aircraft to a placewhere anELT
is tobe installed, repaired or overhauled;
• theELTfitted to the aircraft has been removed for inspection, repair,
modification or replacement provided that
- an entry has beenmade in the aircraft’s logbook stating theELTmake,
daily inspection
