SMOKING INAIRCRAFT (CAR 255)

A personmust not smoke:

• in a part of an aircraft inwhich a notice is permanently displayed indicating

that smoking is prohibited at all times orwithout specifying a period

duringwhich smoking is prohibited;

• anywhere in an aircraft during take-off, landing or refuelling or during a

period:

– inwhich a notice is temporarily displayed indicating that smoking is

prohibited; or

– which is specified in a permanently displayed notice as a periodduring

which smoking is prohibited.

OFFENSIVEANDDISORDERLYBEHAVIOUR (CAR 256AA)

Aperson in an aircraftmust not behave in anoffensive anddisorderlymanner.

UNAUTHORISEDPERSONSNOTTOMANIPULATECONTROLS (CAR228)

Aperson shall notmanipulate the controls of an aircraft in flight unless the

person is:

• the pilot assigned for duty in the aircraft; or

• a student pilot assigned for instruction in the aircraft.

AnAustralian aircraft shall, when flying inAustralian airspace, carry:

• unlessCASA otherwise approves, itsmaintenance release and any other

document approved for use as an alternative to themaintenance release;

• unlessCASA otherwise approves, the licences andmedical certificates of

the operating crew; and

• the flightmanual (if any) for the aircraft.
