VFR flightswishing to departwithout submitting flight notificationmust

provide the following information on first contactwithATC:

• aircraft call-sign and ‘DETAILS’ (wait for a response fromATC);

• destination and first trackingpoint;

• preferred level; and

• identification of ATIS code received.

These detailsmay be givenwith the request for taxi clearance.

Within aClassDCTR, a clearance to take-off is a clearance tooperatewithin

theCTR.

Taxiingandmanoeuvring

The separation of aircraft taxiingon themanoeuvring area is the joint

responsibility of the pilot and the controller. A taxi clearance fromATC is

required prior to operating on themanoeuvring area (taxiways and runways

of any controlled aerodrome.WhenATC issue a taxi instructionwhich

includes a holding point, pilotsmust read back thewords “HOLDINGPOINT

[and theholding point designator]. Specific clearance is required to taxi, enter,

cross or back-track on a runway.
