Phraseologies for themovement of vehicles, other than tow-tractors on the

manoeuvring area, are not listed separately as the phraseology associated

with themovement of aircraft is applicable. The exception is for taxi

instructions, inwhich case theword ‘PROCEED’ will be substituted for the

word ‘TAXI’ whenATC communicateswith vehicles.

TRANSMISSION FORMAT

When initiating a transmission toATS, pilotswill commence the transmission

with the callsign of the unit being addressed followed by the aircraft callsign.

A read-back of anATSmessagewill be terminatedwith the aircraft’s callsign.

Whenmaking a broadcast at a non-towered (non-controlled) aerodromeor in

E or G airspace, the transmissionmust commencewith the location followed

by ‘TRAFFIC’ e.g.: ‘BUNDABERG TRAFFIC’ at theend of the transmission,

the name of the location, ieBUNDABERG.

READ-BACKREQUIREMENTS

For other than a route clearance as indicated below, the key elements of

clearances, instructions or informationmust be readback ensuring sufficient

details as included to clearly indicate compliance.

The following clearances, instructions and informationwill be read back;

• anATC route clearance in its entirety, and any amendments;

Note: as aminimum, the accuracy of a route clearance read-back shall be

confirmed byATS transmitting the aircraft’s callsign.

• en route holding instructions;

• any holdingpoint specified in a taxi clearance;

• any clearances or instructions tohold short of, enter, landon, take off on,

or backtrack on any runway;

• any LAHSO instructions;

• assigned runway, altimeter settings directed to specific aircraft,
