G-Load Section - Blood Levels

Hi all,

In Bob Tait's G-Load chapter it states that the brain will detect a drop in oxygen levels in the brain under high positive G's. Is this technically a drop in blood level in the brain since the brain really detects the carbon dioxide levels through physical exertion etc and really goes unnoticed by oxygen deficiencies? (i.e. hypoxia)

Just trying to get down the nitty gritty.

Cheers

What you are saying is correct. The book was referring to the reduced blood flow to the brain (which includes the oxygen content) due to the heat's attempt to pump blood upwards to the brain under increasing 'g' load.
